Warning: SPOILERS ahead for The Rookie season 7, episode 11!The Rookie season 7, episode 12 trailer has revealed the latest Chenford hookup as The Purge comes to life in the procedural’s April Fools’ Day special. The Rookie season 7 has featured plenty of moments between Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil) and Tim Bradford (Eric Winter) as their relationship complications have continued. This includes the pair sleeping together and confessing they still have feelings for each other, despite the divide between them seemingly being too big for them to completely get back together.
Now, ABC (via TV Promos) has released a new trailer for The Rookie‘s upcoming April Fools’ Day special, which sees a Chenford hookup when Lucy arrives at Tim’s house. Later, it’s revealed the LAPD’s social media intern posted an April Fools’ joke that all crime is legal for the next three hours. This causes a crime spree to hit Los Angeles as the team deals with everything from petty criminals to a “potential mass casualty event,” which Tim speaks about over the radio. What The Rookie Season 7, Episode 12 Trailer Means For The Show
A Potentially Game-Changing Special Episode
While April Fools’ Day means a rekindling of sorts for Chenford, the crime spree also means the characters in The Rookie will be dealing with their most dangerous night so far. The official social media account’s seemingly tongue-in-cheek post led to many criminals believing it to be true, with the trailer emphasizing the level of chaos in store. It’s a stark contrast to the more wholesome interaction between Tim and Lucy at the start, indicative of how quickly events are going to spiral out of control as the three hours carry on.
RelatedWith high thrills, a villain return, and great character moments, The Rookie season 7’s exciting found footage episode sets the stage for the future.
The episode comes in the wake of another problem, as a pregnant woman named Cassie (Molly McCook) on a hijacked bus in the previous episode was revealed to be working for Monica (Bridget Regan). The rogue lawyer is slowly closing in on the team, having orchestrated the hijacking in order to distract them from her goal of getting a law enforcement key card. Even though this event isn’t directly connected, it emphasizes the wild yet multilayered events happening to the LAPD, emphasizing their need for vigilance, especially during the new crime spree.
Our Take On The Rookie Season 7, Episode 12’s Trailer
A Pulse-Pounding Event For April Fools’ Day
With The Rookie‘s newest episode promising a massive swath of crimes across LA, it doesn’t seem like anyone is going to be safe during this April Fools’ Day special. While it’s unclear if something major will happen to any of the show’s core characters, i does seem like nobody is safe from the events about to unfold. Bigger threats may be looming in the background, but developments on Chenford and a real-life Purge for the precinct to deal with will be taking precedence.
The Rookie season 7, episode 12, airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
