Change may be coming to “The White Lotus.”
Mike White hinted that Season 4 of the HBO show might not be set on a beach like the first three seasons.
“For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the ‘crashing waves against rocks’ vernacular,” the 54-year-old said in a video interview for Max after the Season 3 finale aired Sunday.

“But there’s always room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels,” he added.
Each season of “The White Lotus” is set at a different location of the titular resort. So far, the show has visited Hawaii, Sicily and Thailand.

HBO EVP Francesca Orsi teased where Season 4 may take place in an interview with Deadline in February.
“We’re going on some locations scouting in the next couple of weeks, so we’ll know soon,” Orsi said. “I can’t really say where we’re going to land but chances are somewhere in Europe.”

She added that there are “some countries on the map that we talked about, but nothing to report on until they actually go locations scouting.”
The Four Seasons and HBO formalized their partnership before Season 3 aired, so it’s increasingly likely Season 4 will also use a branch of the resort.
The luxury resort’s European locations include London, Paris, Geneva, Budapest, Athens, Madrid and Portugal.

Executive producer David Bernad previously told the Guardian that it’s unlikely the show would leave its traditional warm locales.
“Mike doesn’t like the cold,” Bernad said.

At the start of Season 3, Bernad told The Post about future episodes: “We haven’t gotten to it yet.”
The executive producer also said that when it comes to finding the perfect location for each season, “There’s a macro approach, which is ‘what’s a country that has a film community or local crew that also has a tax rebate that’s film friendly?’ We start in a broader sense, and each season has a larger theme.”

“There’s an element of that — of people soliciting us — which is incredibly flattering and unexpected,” Bernad added.
Cristóbal Tapia de Veer, who composed the theme song for the first three seasons, confirmed to the New York Times last week that he was exiting the show over creative differences with White.
Tapia de Veer said that he and White “had our last fight forever,” which led to him quitting the series.
