The legend of Anthony Edwards continues to grow on Saturday night, as he showcased why he is arguably the NBA‘s shooting guard. He not only got an insane poster dunk, but he also joined a special group with his three-point shooting.
His talent was on full display against the Philadelphia 76ers. Ant scored all over the floor, and he kept dominating the game despite the 76ers’ best efforts to guard him tightly.

After his three-pointer a couple of minutes into the fourth quarter against the 76ers, Edwards became the fifth-ever player to hit 300+ three-pointers in a season.
Before Saturday, only three players had done so with the legendary Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and James Harden. Now, they are joined by Malik Beasley and Anthony Edwards after Saturday’s games.
Edwards Continues To Showcase His Range
Ant entered the NBA as a player primarily known for his athleticism and finishing ability. That has always been his biggest strength, but as he developed his shot, he rapidly became an elite three-point shooter.
The 2024-25 season has been spectacular for Edwards because he has become one of the best in the league. After the 76ers game, Edwards has 303 made threes this season, eclipsing his primary rival, former Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley, who has 301.
Edwards is the more impressive shot-maker because he is not exclusively playing as a spot-up shooter. Ant is more often than not creating his own shot, as evidenced by his absurd game-sealing three against the 76ers on Saturday night.
The 23-year-old guard will keep shooting at this volume for the rest of his career. With this kind of shooting ability, it is fair to expect he could go down as one of the NBA’s greatest-ever shooters. That is insane, considering he was a non-shooter before he entered the league.
Edwards Has Not Lost His Bounce
The three-point record was not the only big moment of the night against Philly for Ant. He also had a trademark poster dunk, this time against 76ers big man Adem Bona.
It was a ferocious tomahawk, as he showcased his elite athleticism and finishing ability. He had no issues getting by his man to attack the baseline and detonated over Bona with the one-handed jam.
With such a rare combination of elite athleticism and three-point shooting, Edwards is at the pinnacle of scoring versatility.
The Timberwolves and their fans should be glad to have this kind of superstar on the team because he will keep having these moments. Ant will keep setting team and personal records, and he will do it over and over again for Minnesota.
