TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – All six of the victims at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital are expected to make a ‘full recovery,’ medical professionals said Friday during a press conference on the aftermath of a fatal shooting at Florida State University.
Dr. Brett Howard said that TMH is currently treating six people who were injured Thursday after an FSU student allegedly opened fire on pedestrians near the FSU Student Union. He declined to share if the alleged shooter, Phoenix Ikner, is being treated at TMH.
The press conference came almost exactly a day after a gunman opened fire near the FSU Student Union. Two people have died since the shooting.
Just before the press conference, the Leon High School Athletics Department confirmed that football coach Robert Morales was one of the two men killed Thursday.
“He was a trusted coach, a respected colleague, and a cherished friend to many,” a statement from the department said.
Ikner, 20, is accused of killing two men and injuring multiple others after allegedcly opening fire Thursday at Florida State University.
Law enforcement says he is also hospitalized with gunshot wounds after being shot by law enforecement in a standoff, according to the FSU Police Department, Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Tallahassee Police Department.
