The Yankees made it out to California for the first of two consecutive series against the LA teams, and their matchup against the Angels started off in their favor with a 5-1 victory. Ryan Yarbrough threw his best start in pinstripes, tossing six innings of one-run ball bouncing back from a leadoff solo home run to allow just a single hit the rest of the way. That’s about as good as you could ask for, and now they’ll look to lock up their seventh straight series win in another late-night clash.
While we have a while to wait before first pitch, let’s run through what else is in store for today. Tuesday brings us our minor league smorgasbord with Nolan giving us the overall weekly recap and Scott pitching in with an in-depth look at the RailRiders’ last week. I’ll pop back in to give the Rivalry Roundup, and then Jeff covers a solid spot start from Jason Grimsley in the 2000 Diary.
