Tornado surveys: 2 confirmed so far in Kentucky, surveys ongoing
NOW QUITE A BIT OF DAMAGE IN THAT AREA. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS BARN DESTROYED BY HIGH WINDS IN LEBANON JUNCTION. NOW THIS IS ALONG BEECH GROVE ROAD JUST SOUTH OF SHEPHERDSVILLE. NOW THIS IS LOCATED IN ONE OF THE AREAS THAT’S BEING SURVEYED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TODAY. WE’RE TOLD A MAN AND A DOG WERE INSIDE AT THE TIME, BUT NO ONE WAS HURT. TORNADOES CONFIRMED SO FAR:Bullitt CountyEF1 damage four miles south of Shepherdsville. Wind speeds of 105 mph. (See video in the player at the top) Fairdale, neighborhood in Louisville Damage consistent with at least an EF1 tornado with 90 mph winds, per the NWS. Reports of downed trees, crushed shed and more: The National Weather Service is going to several counties on Monday to survey the storm damage left behind.In all, nine tornado warnings were issued over the course of the swift-moving storm.During their surveys, they will determine whether that damage was the result of a tornado.WLKY reached out to the NWS, and they said they plan to survey paths in these areas Monday morning: Bullitt HardinJefferson (preliminary EF1 reported in Fairdale neighborhood)Meade These counties may need surveying as well: Breckinridge, Nelson and Spencer.Did you experience damage in any of these areas, or elsewhere?
