Trump baffles with bizarre comment about ‘transgender mice’ in Congress speech

Donald Trump went on a bizarre rant about trans mice during his address to Congress on Tuesday as he discussed some of the wasteful government spending the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been targeting.

“[We found] $8 million for making mice transgender,” he said, pausing as Republicans in the chamber began chuckling. He continued, “This is real.”

Trump also discussed $40 million he said is being spent “to improve the social and economic inclusion of sedentary migrants” adding, “Nobody knows what that is.” He dedicated a whopping seven minutes of his lengthy address to discussing the cuts made by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Elon Musk, who heads the department, was lauded several times for his work making the cuts. At one point, Trump said, “Thank you, Elon. He’s working very hard.”

He then pointed to everyone on the Democratic side of the chamber, stating, “Everybody here, even this side, appreciates it, I believe. They just don’t want to admit that.”

Tariffs were also a point of discussion throughout the speech — Trump slapped 25% tariffs against Mexico and Canada on Tuesday, earlier than anticipated, in a move that has many experts speculating that a trade war is on the horizon.

In another shocking moment, Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) was kicked out of the chamber after standing up and screaming, “You have no mandate to cut Medicaid.” He was then asked to “sit down” and escorted out shortly thereafter as Republicans chanted, “USA!” and sang, “Na-na na-na, hey, hey, hey, goodbye.”

There was also a moment in which Trump discussed his pardons for Jan. 6 rioters as he simultaneously discussed the need for law and order in the country.

“We’re also once again giving our police officers the support, protection and respect they so dearly deserve,” he stated. One of his first actions as president was to pardon the over 1,500 people charged for their involvement in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot — including those who had assaulted police officers.

The Democrats then began chanting “January 6th” as Trump recounted his plans for combatting crime throughout the country. He pardoned over 250 people convicted of assault.
