Victim shot to death outside downtown hotel; second victim rushed to hospital, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) -The Memphis Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured.

Around 2:40 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at the Westin Hotel near Second Street and across the street from the FedEx Forum.

When police arrived, they discovered that two people had been injured.

According to MPD, one person was pronounced dead, and another was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

MPD says that the suspects were riding in a white vehicle before they fled the scene.
