EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Across the state today, voters are hitting the polls, electing the next person to serve as the next state supreme court justice, state superintendent and many other local positions.
In the city of Eau Claire, as of 6:00 p.m., just over 50% of registered voters have cast their ballots. Eric Gilge, the deputy city clerk for the city of Eau Claire, said that is around 23,000 Eau Claire residents. Those numbers also include processed absentee ballots.
Gilge said this turnout is fairly typical for turnout in previous April elections. Polls close at 8:00 p.m. across the state for those still hoping to cast their ballot.
