Gary Payton II scored a career-high 26 on 11-of-16 shooting for the Warriors. Buddy Hield added 20 points and seven of Golden State’s 35 assists. Moses Moody scored 20. Butler had 15 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds for his 18th career triple double.

Their seven-game homestand continues Thursday against the Sacramento Kings.
Against the Trail Blazers, rhythmic offense – and cohesive defense – sparked a 68-49 halftime lead amid 19 assists on 23 baskets and 12-of-21 3-point shooting. Payton stepped into four 3-pointers. Hield added three first-half triples. Golden State’s ball and player movement resulted in open jumpers and layups.

Save for Deni Avdija and Scoot Henderson, Portland shot 9 of 29 in the first half. The Trail Blazers (28-38) responded with a 19-7 third-quarter run – and six 3-pointers — that Curry quelled with his third triple.
His fourth and fifth 3-pointers inspired a 94-82 lead with 3:01 in the third quarter, after which the Warriors led 102-92. They opened the fourth with an 11-6 burst that brought the crowd to its collective feet: two layups from Payton, a layup from Butler, a triple from Hield and an alley-oop from Draymond Green to Payton.
Golden State nursed its lead without resistance.
