Jaxson Dart is going to have an uphill battle to win over at least one New York radio host.
WFAN’s Gregg Giannotti went off on a caller Friday morning over the Giants’ selection of the Ole Miss quarterback on Thursday in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, calling Dart a “pudgy, Utah clapper,” and comparing him to former Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral.
“Seriously. You’re a Giants fan so you’re gonna suck off every one of their picks,” Giannotti screamed. “‘He’s from Ole Miss, like Eli!’ You’re probably one of those sickos who sat there and defended Daniel Jones for six freaking years. Get over it.
“He’s a pudgy, Utah clapper. ‘How many games at Ole Miss?’ I don’t need to watch any games at Ole Miss! How many games at BYU did I watch Zach Wilson play? Zero and I knew he was gonna suck! And he did!”

Giants general manager Joe Schoen traded back up into the first round to take Dart with the 25th pick, giving up the 34th and 99th picks in this draft, as well as a 2026 third-rounder to the Texans to take Dart.
With Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston having already been acquired this offseason, Dart should have plenty of time to acclimate to the NFL before taking the field.
None of that mattered to Giannotti. Nor did whether or not he’d actually seen Dart play football.

When the caller asked whether Giannotti had actually watched any Ole Miss games this season, the host seemed to indicate he had not, but insisted it didn’t matter.
“How many Ole Miss games did Jon Gruden watch of Jaxson Dart?” Giannotti asked. “And I’ll tell you right now he thinks he stinks.
“How many times have you watched him play Mike?!?” he said, addressing the caller by name. “How many times have you watched him?? How many times??”
The “Boomer and Gio” host punctuated his rant by bringing up Lane Kiffin’s spotted record of producing quarterbacks as a head coach (and ignoring that he coached both Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa as Alabama’s offensive coordinator).
“He’s a system quarterback in Lane Kiffin’s offense,” Giannotti said. “Go look up Matt Corral. How did that work out?”
