CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Louisville basketball begins ACC Tournament play today with a chance to reach its semifinal round for the first time since joining the conference in 2014.
To get there, Pat Kelsey‘s No. 2-seeded Cardinals (25-6, 18-2) must win a rematch of their regular-season finale against No. 7 seed Stanford (20-12, 12-9) at the Spectrum Center. If they do, it’ll be the program’s first tournament victory since beating Georgia Tech on March 8, 2022, in Greensboro, North Carolina.
From there, U of L would play either No. 3 Clemson or No. 6 SMU at approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday with a spot in the championship game on the line.
Stanford reached today’s quarterfinal round by taking down No. 15 California on Wednesday night, 78-73.
Louisville was 20 points better than the Cardinal, 68-48, the last time these teams met at the KFC Yum! Center.
