The Pittsburgh Steelers landed Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon, bypassing other players such as Shedeur Sanders and Matthew Golden.
Harmon was the fourth defensive tackle selected, but the Steelers had him rated significantly higher than many teams in the league. Pittsburgh said Harmon had ‘Steelers-DNA’ that attracted them to him on tape.
“He has Steelers DNA. For us, it starts inside and up front, and this is a guy that’s capable of dominating that space versus the run and the pass.So we’re really excited about having him,” head coach Mike Tomlin said.
The Steelers are excited to work Harmon in with Cam Heyward and Keeanu Benton.
Here is what the national media is saying about the Steelers’ selection of Harmon.
