After a long, strange offseason, the 2025 Major League Baseball regular season is here.
It’s only a matter of time before we get to see some of our favorite players in their new homes. Juan Soto with the New York Mets, Corbin Burnes with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Willy Adames with the San Francisco Giants are all sure to thrill, but the first ones we’ll get to see are Tanner Scott and Blake Snell as new members of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Kyle Tucker playing for the Chicago Cubs.
The Dodgers and Cubs are kicking off the MLB regular season with a two-game series in Japan, starting Tuesday, March 18. Of course, the remaining 28 MLB teams will not be participating, with their first games of the regular season slated for later in March.

When is MLB Opening Day for everyone else?
Traditional MLB Opening Day will be on Thursday, March 27, with 28 teams in action. Although the Dodgers and Cubs will already have two games under their belts, they will still be participating in Opening Day contests, with the Dodgers facing the Detroit Tigers at home, while the Cubs will play the Diamondbacks in Arizona.
The only teams that are not playing games on March 27 are the Tampa Bay Rays and Colorado Rockies. With Hurricane Milton devastating the Tampa area during the offseason, the Rays were given an extra day to prepare themselves for the 2025 regular season as they set up their new, temporary home at George M. Steinbrenner Field, the spring training home for the New York Yankees.
