One final weekend of college basketball sees four of the best teams in the country go at it for all the glory. The first spot in the NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship Game will be determined between the Duke Blue Devils and the Houston Cougars.
For the first time under head coach Jon Scheyer, the Blue Devils are in the Final Four. The last time team made it to this point was in legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski’s last season in 2021-22. Now, led by a class of talented athletes, Duke has a chance to advance to the championship game for the first time since they last won it all in 2015.
Houston has infamously been a respectable team over its history, with the inability to win the big one. Coach Kelvin Sampson’s squad made it into the national tournament for the seventh straight season, and avenged disappointing results from the last couple of years to make it to the Final Four for the first time since 2021. The Cougars are trying to get to the national title game for the first time since 1984.
The first time Duke met Houston was last year, where the Blue Devils knocked the top-seeded Cougars in the Sweet 16.
