‘Why Myles Garret is special:’ Story from ex-player

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Money talks.

And, $40 million per year says Myles Garrett is pretty special in Cleveland.

Over the weekend, the Browns announced a contract deal reportedly making the all-pro defensive end the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

Now, another defensive end — turned internet influencer — is sounding off.

In a recent video posted on TikTok, Isaac Rochell said, “He deserves it!”

The former Browns player not only applauded Garret for his moves on the field — but off the field, too.

“Let me tell you a quick story about why I think Myles Garrett is special…” said Rochell, who went on to explain that while on the Browns with Garrett, the team held a training camp practice at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium and then toured the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

“We were like little kids in a candy shop,” said Rochell. “Every single player goes; except for one.”

According to Rochell, instead of touring the Hall of Fame, Garrett sat on the bus.

“Afterwards I asked him why didn’t you go in there and his response was ‘I’m not going into the Hall of Fame until I’m inducted into the Hall of Fame,’” said Rochell, who went on to share his response. “Brah, I’m trying to make the roster. So when he says that I’m like ‘this is crazy.’ He is built different.”

In February, the standout defensive player requested a trade from the Browns, admittedly in the pursuit of playing in a Super Bowl.
