Why Riyan Parag had to flip the coin twice during the RR vs LSG clash

Rishabh eventually won the toss and decided to bat first but not before sharing a few moments of laughter with Rajasthan Royals’ stand-in skipper Riyan Parag.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday had its fair share of drama even before the first ball was bowled.

It all began at the toss, where stand-in Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag’s coin flip turned into a comedy sketch.

Instead of a proper spin, the coin barely twirled mid-air before dropping flat. Ever the entertainer, Pant refused to call it and the match referee called for a do-over.

Second time lucky, Parag managed a proper flip. Pant called tails and won the toss but not before cheekily ribbing Parag.

“Tune aise hi fek diya, spin bhi kar yaar!” he said.

Lucknow Super Giants chose to bat after winning the toss.

Riyan Parag is captaining Rajasthan Royals in the match with regular skipper Sanju Samson missing out due to an abdominal injury he sustained while batting in RR’s last match against Delhi Capitals.

The Royals have included 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi as one of the Impact Players for the match.
