THEY’RE GOING FOR THEIR FIFTH STRAIGHT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. AND WE TALKED TO FANS ABOUT IT TODAY. WE ALSO TALKED TO PEOPLE WHO ARE FROM ALL OVER HERE WATCHING THE WOMEN’S COLLEGE WORLD SERIES. AND THEY SAY THE INTENSITY OF THE COMPETITION MAKES THE TOURNAMENT MUCH MORE EXCITING. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE PACKING DEVON PARK FOR DAY ONE OF THE WOMEN’S COLLEGE WORLD SERIES. THE TOP EIGHT TEAMS BATTLING TO PROVE WHY THEY ARE THE BEST IN THE NATION. AND THE FANS SAY THEY CAN FEEL THE COMPETITION IN THE AIR. WE PREDICT A GOOD TOURNAMENT AND THE PLAY IS JUST BETTER, THE COMPETITION IS BETTER AND THAT’S REALLY GOOD FOR EVERYBODY, FROM LITTLE GIRLS WATCHING THEIR ROLE MODELS TO THE UP AND COMING SOFTBALL STARS STEPPING ON THE DIRT AT THE SOFTBALL CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. IT’S GOOD TO SEE THE YOUNG PLAYERS OUT HERE. THE YOUNG KIDS TO SEE THIS KIND OF PLAY ON THE FIELD. WE’RE EXCITED ABOUT THAT. FANS SAY THEY’RE CROSSING THEIR FINGERS. THEIR TEAM PULLS THROUGH. YOU KNOW WE’RE HERE. YOU GOT A CHANCE. I THINK WE STAND A GREAT CHANCE. WE’VE GOT CANDY. WE’VE GOT ALL THE PEOPLE BEHIND HER TO BACK HER UP. WE HAVE A GREAT COACHING STAFF. OKLAHOMA CITY —The Women’s College World Series has started in Oklahoma City, with thousands of fans packing Devon Park to watch the top eight teams battle for the national championship.

“We predict a good tournament, and the play is just better, the competition is better, and that’s good for everybody,” said Sally Hall, a University of Oklahoma fan.
