And just like that, the first weekend of the 2025 women’s NCAA Tournament will close on Monday.
However, before the end of the tournament’s first two rounds, there is still plenty at stake with Monday’s March Madness action. A pair of No. 1 seeds in Texas and USC face stiffer competition to continue their season in the second round. The Longhorns take on No. 8 Illinois, while the Trojans have their hands full with No. 9 Mississippi State.

No. 2 UConn cannot overlook double-digit seed South Dakota State in the second round. The No. 10 Jackrabbits upended No. 7 Oklahoma State to continue their season for at least another game. UConn enters Monday’s game having dominated Arkansas State for an easy win on Saturday.
No. 3 LSU and No. 6 Florida State provide an intriguing matchup. Ta’Niya Latson, the nation’s leading scorer, is finally showing off her abilities in the postseason after being injured during the Seminoles’ runs the last two seasons.
