WWE Officially Acquires Legendary Mexican Wrestling Promotion

Just hours ahead of WWE WrestleMania 41, WWE officially announced its acquisition of this legendary Mexican wrestling promotion.

Just hours before WrestleMania 41 began, the promotion announced its official acquisition of Lubra Libre AAA. As per a previous report by WrestleVotes, it was that an upcoming WWE NXT event was set to take place with AAA.

“NXT Worlds Collide taking place at the Kia Forum on June 7th with AAA.”

Soon enough, the announcement was made official during the WrestleMania 41 kickoff show. Verifying the reports, an official NXT x AAA Worlds Collide for June 7 at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles was confirmed.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H claimed that WWE would take Lucha Libre to another level, and was joined by Rey Mysterio, Penta, Rey Fenix, Andrade, Stephanie Vaquer, El Hijo del Vikingo, and many more during the announcement.

Triple H later also posted a photo with El Hijo del Vikingo and hyped up the partnership.

AAA was founded in 1992 by Antonio Peña and Konnan and is currently one of the most popular wrestling promotions in the world. Their roster also includes Alberto El Patron (formerly Alberto Del Rio).

Rey Fenix Has Named His WWE Dream Opponents

Recently, speaking with Denise Salcedo ahead of WrestleMania 41,Rey Fenix revealed his list of three dream matches, including one against a Hall of Famer.

“I can say three matches I want to happen in WWE first, I want to face my brother [Penta], right? I want to face my brother. Second, of course, Rey Mysterio, and my third one, I’m gonna say Randy Orton.”
