Inter Milan vs Bayern Munich LIVE!
Simeone Inzaghi’s side are in a fantastic position to reach the Champions League semi-finals after a 2-1 first-leg win in Germany last week. Thomas Muller’s late equaliser looked to have earned a share of the first-leg spoils until Davide Frattesi scored an even later winner to put the Nerazzurri on course for a European second semi-final in three seasons.
Player on Inzaghi’s mind will surely be last season’s loss to Atletico Madrid, having again won the first leg. A rare occurrence in the competition’s history, but one which will give Harry Kane & Co. hope. Another being that Bayern have won all four of their away games against Inter. They need a fifth tonight.
The Inter playbook will be intriguing tonight, and probably not too surprise. Inzaghi knows how to set up a team defensively and will have his team set up to combat the Bavarian onslaught. Bayern reached the last four last season, can overcome the odds to make it two from two?Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog!
49 mins: Dimarco whips in a lovely ball from the left, but Kim turns it round the post for a corner.
46 mins: The second half begins at San Siro. 45 minutes for Bayern to avoid crashing out of the Champions League!
Bayern possession: 61.1 %
The half-time whistle blows and it’s all square at San Siro, which will suit the hosts, 2-1 up on aggregate.
Bayern must find another gear after the interval.
45+1 mins: As the fourth official signals two added minutes, a booking is shown to Dier this time for a poor tackle on Thuram, who is being targeted.
Kimmich clips another free-kick into the box for Bayern. Goretzka is there to meet it up… heads it away!
Giving Inter a helping hand they didn’t need.
40 mins: A cross flies over Kane’s head and lands in the path of Sane at an awkward height for the German, whose bouncing volley is easily saved.
38 mins: CLOSE. There’s a goal-line scramble from Bayern which sees Sommer push behind for a corner.
From that corner, Sommer claws half clear and stops a tap-in for Kane at the far stick. Bayern keep the attack going… until Kimmich’s tepid volley is held by Sommer.
36 mins: Bayern have a free-kick from a decent position out on the right flank. Kimmich and Olise stand over it, and it’s Kimmich who hoists into the box but Thuram is back there to head clear.
33 mins: CLOSE. What a fine effort that was from Calhanoglu, who we know can hit them from that sort of range.
It curls close to the far post but just beyond. Best chance of the night so far.
